Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt recently made a striking appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIIF) in Jeddah, where she was the focus of an event celebrating her remarkable cinematic journey.
The showcase highlighted her career as one of India's most bankable actresses, spanning memorable performances from her breakout in 'Raazi' to her powerhouse role in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. During this retrospective, the actress offered exciting insights into her highly anticipated spy thriller, 'Alpha', confirming her pivotal role in expanding the successful Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe.
During her appearance, Alia provided an early tease of 'Alpha', which is set to be a major milestone for the franchise as the first female-led action film in the YRF Spy Universe.
She spoke about the calculated risks involved in spearheading an action property that has historically been dominated by male leads, such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan.
Starring Alia alongside Sharvari and featuring Bobby Deol, this ambitious action drama is directed by Shiv Rawail (known for The Railway Men) and produced by YRF scion Aditya Chopra. "Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that's also a risk, because you've not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have," she stated, reflecting the industry's awareness of challenging established formulas and her commitment to leading this ambitious project.

The immense scale and high-octane visual requirements of Alpha have necessitated a shift in its theatrical release date. Originally slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the film has now been officially postponed to April 17, 2026.
A YRF spokesperson confirmed the delay, noting that the extensive visual effects (VFX) of the film require more time to ensure the movie is presented in its 'visually best form' to audiences, prioritising cinematic quality and a jaw-dropping theatrical experience.
When it hits theatres, 'Alpha' will be the seventh instalment in the lucrative YRF Spy Universe, following the success of 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War', 'Pathaan', 'Tiger 3', and 'War 2', officially cementing Alia Bhatt's character into the interconnected world of Indian espionage.
