Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited spiritual action sequel ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ has finally landed in cinemas, and as expected, social media erupted the moment early morning shows wrapped up. The film, which was postponed earlier due to financial hurdles, arrived with towering expectations, especially given the blockbuster success of the 2021 original.
But if Twitter (X) is any indication, the sequel has sharply divided the audience. While hardcore Balayya fans are celebrating the film as a divine mass feast, a significant section of viewers feels the movie is an overstuffed, outdated marathon.

The response to Akhanda 2 is sharply divided, and the tweets reflect the contrast clearly.
Some viewers left unimpressed. Venky Reviews (@venkyreviews), “#Akhanda2 An Underwhelming Mass Entertainer with a few mass sequences that work but the rest disappoints! …However, the rest of the movie goes on a flat tone and feels outdated… this one goes way too overboard, diluting the impact.”

The story continues from the first part with a typical Boyapati style treatment. A few mass sequences work, like the intro, interval block, and a block in the second half.…
rohith kumar (@rohithklv), “Akhanda 2 mostly works in parts while falling flat otherwise… the sequel had massive potential but it lacked solid writing and tight screenplay… the interval block and episodes leading to the climax were literally in GOD zone.”

Boyapati & Balayya is doing the routine we’ve watched for decades. They just added some paranormal stuff on top. Balayya does his usual fights, and the BGM somehow manages to be even louder. Hardcore fans might still cheer, but for everyone else, it’s painful. #Skipit
On the other side of Twitter, Balakrishna’s supporters are celebrating the film as a full-fledged mass entertainer.
Yash (@YashTDP_), “Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘Akhanda 2’ takes the audience on a thrilling ride… Balakrishna’s acting is amazing… Thaman’s music adds significant value.”
