Ayushmann Khurrana has built an entire career out of picking scripts nobody else would touch, and going by the trailer of Udta Teer, he's at it again. The Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment film, which brings Ayushmann and Sara Ali Khan together on screen for the very first time, has finally dropped its trailer, and it's exactly as quirky as that hammock poster promised it would be.

What Udta Teer Is About?

The film is being sold as a spy comedy, but don't go in expecting a slick, gadget-heavy espionage thriller. Udta Teer takes the genre and flips it on its head, leaning fully into the kind of humour-driven, family-entertainer space Ayushmann has made his own over the years.

The tagline that's been doing the rounds since the first look, "Deshbhakti toh yaad hai... par Desh nahi," pretty much sums up the film's tone: it's poking fun at patriotism and the spy-thriller template rather than playing either straight. The story is set against the India-Pakistan border, and that first poster of Ayushmann lounging on a hammock strung between the two countries gives you a fair idea of how seriously (or not) the film takes itself.

When Is It Releasing

Udta Teer hits theatres on October 9, 2026, right in the middle of the Navratri festive window, which makes sense given the family-entertainer positioning. It'll also be Ayushmann and Sara's second film together this year after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, so audiences are getting a fairly quick follow-up on that pairing.
