Ramayana is gearing up for its grand release within a few weeks, and the makers have introduced the audience to the world of this epic saga. Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, and more, the movie has an epic cast that has already created a lot of buzz. Meet the prominent actors and characters of Ramayana before its grand release on November 5, 2026. 

Ramayana Cast and Characters:

From Ranbir Kapoor to Sai Pallavi, know who plays whom in Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. 

1. Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Parashurama and Lord Vishnu

Ranbir will play the central character of Lord Ram along with Lord Vishnu and Parashurama.  

2. Yash as Ravana

Kannada star Yash will portray Ravana, the king of Lanka and the central protagonist of Ramayana.  

3. Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita

Sai Pallavi will essay Goddess Sita, Lord Ram's wife and daughter of King Janak. 

4. Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana

Ravie Dubey, who is one of the most popular actors in television industry, will play Lakshmana, younger brother of Lord Ram.

5. Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman (Main Role in Sequel)

Sunny Deol is confirmed to play Lord Hanuman but it is not clear if he will make an appearance in Ramayana or not. His official look has not been revealed yet. 

6. Arun Govil as King Dasharatha

Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the original Ramayana series, will be seen as King Dasharatha, Lord Ram's father. 

7. Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi

Lara Dutta will be seen as Queen Kaikeyi, who is responsible for Lord Ram's exile from Ayodhya.

8. Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara

Sheeba Chaddha, who has been seen in pivotal roles in several critically acclaimed projects, will play another interesting role of Manthara, the person behind the conspiracy of Lord Ram's exile. 

9. Sonal Jha as Sumitra

Sonal Jha, known for popular movies and shows like Lipstick Under My Burkha, 3 Storeys, Chillar Party, Na Aana Is Des Laado and Balika Vadhu, will play Sumitra, the mother of the twins Lakshmana and Shatrughna. 

10. Adinath Kothare as Bharata

Adinath Kothare, popular Marathi and Hindi actor known for Hello Nandan, Chandramukhi and more, will play Bharata, brother of Lord Ram and son of Kaikeyi. 

11. Nitish Sharma as Shatrughna

Nitish Sharma will portray Shatrughan, the youngest son of King Dasharatha. He has worked in the series Pyaar Paisa Profit. 

12. Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha

Rakul Preet Singh has been cast to play Shurpanakha, sister of Ravana and the one of main antagonist of Ramayana. 

13. Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva

Vivek Oberoi plays Vidyutjihva, Shurpanakha's husband, who is eventually killed by Ravana. 

14. Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari

Kajal Aggarwal has been roped in to play Mandodari, wife of Ravana.  

15. Anupam Kher as Jatayu (voice-over)

Anupam Kher will play Jatayu but only for voice-over. Jatayu is a pivotal character in this epic and tried to save Mata Sita when she was being abducted by Ravana. 

16. Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra

Kunal Kapoor will be seen as Lord Indra, the king of devas and heaven.
