The makers of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana have unveiled Arun Govil's solo character poster, giving audiences their first official look at him as the king of Ayodhya. The actor who once became the face of Lord Ram for an entire generation now steps into the role of Ram's father.
Arun Govil As Raja Dashrath
Govil's poster shows him as a regal Dashrath, and it has got people talking for an obvious reason. His image as Lord Ram from Ramanand Sagar's 1987 TV series is still fresh in popular memory. Seeing him on the other side of that relationship, as the father, gives the film a layer of nostalgia that no other casting choice could.
What Did Arun Govil Say About Comparison With Adipurush
Govil has also addressed the comparisons with 2022's Adipurush. He said comparisons are natural whenever a standard has been set, and made it clear he sees a lot of difference between the two films.
