You’re going to hear a lot of people say the movie fell flat in the second half.
That might be true for some. Because there are some flaws.
But for someone like me who watched MM1 when I was single and in peak depression stage this movie hit very differently.
It actually made me stop and think about how much my life has changed since MM1.
If you have a child I genuinely feel this movie will hit you differently thats why I connected with Baba Baskar master more than Aadhi in this movie. The emotional moments are definitely there.
And kudos to Aadhi for making that casting choice.
I’m definitely coming back for a second watch with my wife. ❤️
I’m pretty sure she might connect more with Vaani and Lachmi and see the movie from a completely different perspective.

There is no dull moment or draggy portions, the whole movie was engaging. But the story was usual and predictable.

What Meesaya Murukku 2 Is About

Meesaya Murukku 2 picks up nearly a decade after the 2017 original, with Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi returning in a dual role this time. The story moves between two timelines, in the 1980s and the present day and follows a young musician who challenges traditional ideas around Indian classical music while chasing his own dreams in the industry.

At its heart, it's about what it takes to make it in music without any background or godfather to fall back on, told through Aadhi's own signature mix of gaana, hip-hop and emotion. The film also brings back the coming-of-age, friendship-and-love template that made the first part such a hit, with Chaithra J Achar, Ramya Ranganathan and Ketika Sharma playing the female leads this time around, alongside Karunas, Baba Bhaskar and Harshath Khan in key roles.

Is Meesaya Murukku 2 Worth Watching?

Everyone is loving Aadhi's music and the emotional scenes - especially those who loved the first part. But many feel the story is nothing new and looks a bit forced at places.
