Alpha has been receiving a mixed response from the audience, with many praising the performances but criticising the storyline. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared that it might be impossible for the audience not to compare Alpha with Dhurandhar.
An X user called it a forgettable spy thriller but said it comes alive when Alia and Sharvari come together on the big screen. Meanwhile, some netizens felt disappointed by Hrithik Roshan's cameo. Many even called it the weakest film of YRF Spy Universe.

What is Alpha about?
Alpha follows a young assassin named Sita, who goes against her adopted father's illicit practice. She teams up with another assassin for a mission.
The movie stars Alia Bhatt as Sita with Sharvari as another assassin and Bobby Deol as Fateh Singh Lakhawat. Anil Kapoor reprised his role as Colonel Vikrant Kaul, with Hrithik Roshan playing Kabir again for a cameo role.
Alpha might open to underwhelming numbers as it could not create the expected hype. According to India Today, the movie may earn Rs 7 to 8 crore on day 1. However, it will still be more than Alia's previous solo releases like Raazi and Jigra. As of now, it is difficult to declare the final verdict of Alpha.
The movie is directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously worked on Netflix's critically acclaimed series 'The Railway Men'. Soumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan and Ishita Moitra worked on the script with an original story by Uday Chopra.
