Pink boxes, bows and a lot of playful dressing. Péro opened Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI on October 14 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, and this time Aneeth Arora's label brought Barbie along. The Spring Summer 2027 collection is called Dream Dress-Up, and it is all about wearing what makes you feel like yourself.

What Is The Péro x Barbie Collaboration?

The collaboration is part of Barbie's global tie-up with péro, facilitated in India by Dream Theatre, Mattel's licensing agency. It brings Barbie's spirit of creativity and possibility together with péro's handmade, story-led way of designing. The idea is simple. Fashion should be about who you are, not a set of rules on how to dress.

The Pink Box Idea

This whole collection plays with Barbie's famous pink box. Usually a box tells you what's inside, right? But here they flipped it - the box is about breaking out of it. About not fitting into one label and trying out different versions of yourself. Getting dressed just becomes a way to play with that.

What The Clothes Look Like

It's very relaxed, easy clothes that you can actually move in. They have mixed soft and strong together, so you get that feminine-masculine balance in the same outfit. There's a lot going on like fun prints, crochet, lace, little bows, layering that doesn't follow the rulebook. And like always with péro, it's all about handmade touches, textile play and that little imperfect finish that makes it theirs.

Barbie Pink For Everyone

Barbie pink gets a fresh role in this collection. Instead of being tied to one idea of girlhood, the shade is shown as a colour anyone can wear, which fits the label's genderless approach to dressing.

The Beauty Side Of The Show

The opening showcase was presented by Lakmé x Tira, with Tira as the beauty partner. The show also marked the fashion week debut of the Lakmé 9to5 HYA Glam Range, built around the 5 PM Glam Reset for days that move from work to evening plans. The Lakmé 9to5 HYA Glam Lip & Cheek Blush is launching exclusively on Tira.

Why Péro Was Chosen To Open The Week?

FDCI picks one designer every season for the opening show, someone who is pushing craft and creativity forward in Indian fashion. FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi said péro regularly delivers some of the most talked-about showcases on the platform. This is not the label's first big moment here. Péro opened the October 2024 edition while celebrating 15 years, and closed the March 2026 edition with its Out of Office finale.
