Miley Cyrus has done it again. Her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and it is her first chart-topping album in more than a decade. The last time she was at the top was in 2013 with Bangerz.


The album earned 61,000 equivalent album units in the US in the week ending 24 September, according to Luminate. Most of that came from pure album sales, around 47,000, while the rest came from streaming, which added up to about 14 million streams. This makes it her sixth No. 1 album, and her 16th top 10 album overall.

It was not an easy win for Miley. Ella Langley's album Dandelion landed at No. 2 with almost the same number of units, so Miley just managed to stay ahead. The result also surprised many people in the industry, since early predictions had the album opening somewhere between 40,000 and 45,000 units.

Bass Persuades came out on 18 September, just a few weeks after Miley announced it on 1 September. The title track was released a few days before the announcement and debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fans also got a lot of choices to buy it, with several vinyl versions, CD editions and even a cassette, which clearly helped the sales numbers.

The album has guest appearances too, with the band Model/Actriz on the track "Different Religion" and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow on "Neon Signs". Other songs that fans are talking about include "Let's Get Married" and "Orbit".

This album is also a fresh start for the singer. It is her first release under the single name Miley, and her first project with Atlantic Records. It follows Something Beautiful, which came out in 2025 and reached No. 4 on the chart.
