Rita mentioned, "Sunita Williams stuck in space for seven months displays mental strength and resilience comparable to any man! She is one tough woman hanging out there!"

"Living on the ground in Nagpur, India’s center point, we hear of the great women scientists of CSIR-NEERI making strides and inspiring young women. Dr. Sadhana Rayalu, Retd. Chief Scientist from CSIR- NEERI (Centre for Science and Industrial Research – National Environmental Engineering Research Institute), Nagpur, developed greener firecrackers that reduced air pollution by 30%.! Based on this the Government of India, framed a policy for manufacturers to comply with. It was called by the media ‘A new Green Revolution’! Dr. Rita Dhodapkar, Former Science secretary and Principal Technical Officer in CSIR- NEERI, Nagpur, was conferred the CSIR Technology Award 2020 by CSIR, New Delhi and featured in the Royal Society of Chemistry for her work on Drinking water and develop simple systems to disinfect water for use in individual households. She developed technologies for wastewater reuse," shared Aggarwal.

She continued, "Dr. Sunita Narain a prominent environmental scientist and director general of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), has been a leading voice on issues related to air pollution, water conservation, and climate change. Her work raises awareness about environmental challenges and advocates for policy changes. Dr. Tessy Thomas -the "Missile Woman of India" played a key role in the development of India's Agni series of ballistic missiles. She is a leading figure in the field of aerospace engineering."

"Whether it is Dr. Vandana Shiva, an environmental activist and scholar, or Dr Rajani Kant on rainwater harvesting and managing groundwater resources, or Dr Priya Ranjan promoting solar energy technologies, or Dr. Anjali Singh an astrophysicist, and her work on galaxies and formation of stars, women are inspiring the younger generation like never before," said Rita.

She states, "Women are there, everywhere, in diverse professions, be it engineering, science, medicine, biotechnology, psychology, architecture, cosmetology, social activism, biodiversity, climate change, environmental protection, inspiring young ones to get out of comfort zones and innovate, create, struggle and make a difference! Such examples are proof of their dedication and visionary leadership for fostering a future full of promise and hope for a better world."

"We find women from across the globe engrossed in their own passions pursuing different and difficult paths to set new trends. Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan environmental activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, founded the Green Belt Movement, a grassroots organisation that mobilized women to plant trees and combat deforestation. Dr Jane Goodall groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in Tanzania and their conservation; Dr Sylvia Earle: A marine biologist and National Geographic Explorer, and thousands more are breaking barriers, empowering communities, championing causes, and leading solutions that are sustainable," added.
