The Solo Girl's Guide To Delhi Weekends: What To Do Under Rs 500, 1000 And 2000

Weekending alone in Delhi  and bored of the same cafes and malls? If you are based in the national capital and want weekend plans that are fun, aesthetic, and easy on your pocket, this guide is for you. Here are the list of things you can do in Delhi under Rs 500, Rs 1000, and Rs 2000. 

Delhi Weekend Under Rs 500

1. Lodhi Garden Solo Picnic + Journaling

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, then a solo picnic at Lodhi Garden is a good option. Take a journal, a book, or even art and crafts to sit alone and enjoy your time. You can even find like minded people at the place. Go early in the morning or after 4:30 PM for pleasant weather. It will hard take Rs 50-60 by metro, and you can buy coffee or any street food, and things will wrap up in Rs 500.  

2. Mehrauli Archaeological Park Heritage Walk

If you want to simply enjoy nature with some history, then go to  Mehrauli Archaeological Park for a walk. You join a group of 20-30 people for a heritage walk, and a guide stays with you. Along with the walk, do visit Jamali Kamali Mosque, Rajon Ki Baoli, and Balban's Tomb for more site seeing.

3. Humayun's Tomb and Sunder Nursery

Sunder Nursery is also a perfect destination for a cute picnic, surrounded by greenery and flowers. You can also visit a cafe near Sunder Nursery, which is not even expensive, and visit Humayun's Tomb as well for good photos and site seeing. Everything will be wrapped up within Rs 500.

4. Shahpur Jat Village and Pottery

If not walking or site seeing, try pottery at Clay Company at Shahpur Jat Village, priced at Rs 350 for an hour.

5. Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah Qawwali

This is absolutely free. Buy some flowers for yourself, but be careful because of the heavy crowd. This happens every Thursday evening from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM.

Delhi Fun Weekends Under Rs 1000

1. Old Delhi Food Walk

Food will cost around Rs 500 in total. First go to Daulat Ki Chaat, then Nagori Halwa, then buy Jalebi for Rs 100, and finally go to Karim's. You can even take a guided group tour under Rs 500 on BookMyShow. The best time is 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, as Sunday morning is the cleanest and safest.

2. Hauz Khas Fort and Deer Park

The entry is free at Hauz Khas Fort. Your plan can be 9 AM Fort, then 10:30 AM Deer Park Lake and 12 PM at a cafe. The solo girl hack is that Deer Park lakeside is safe for solo girls till 5 PM; just avoid the inside corners of the fort. Explore the Hauz Khas market later on if you want to do thrift shopping.

3. National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) with CP Book Market

NGMA ticket is only around Rs 20, and you can easily reach there via metro or auto. Books at the book market at Connaught Place are around Rs 300. If you are craving some pastry, then do not forget to visit the iconic Wenger.

4. Jahanpanah Forest Morning Cycling

Rent a cycle for around Rs 400 for 3 hours from Decathlon Saket. Go from 6 AM to 9 AM; there are girls-only cycling groups by Delhi By Cycle. It is safe because there are forest guards and only morning walkers at that time.

Delhi Weekend For Rs 2000

1. Majnu Ka Tila (MKT) for Fun Cafe and Karaoke

While visiting MKT, first go to Ama Cafe for pancakes, then laphing and some other exciting street food. You can also visit the monastery entrance, which is free. This will cost under Rs 1000. If you are looking for something fun, do not forget to do Karaoke.

2. Qutub Minar Light and Sound

Visit Qutub Minar with a Rs 40 ticket, where you can see the light show for Rs 120. If you are in the mood of splurging, then do try one drink plus bruschetta at Olive is around Rs 1300.

3. Haveli Dharampura Old Delhi High Tea

Go fancy with High Tea, which will be around Rs. 1200. The experience is that you wear a saree or kurta, and they give you royal high tea in a 200-year-old haveli. It is super safe, and the staff is very protective of solo women.

4. Sip and Paint

There are some cafes in Delhi where you can simply sip and paint a canvas or a ceramic piece. Cafes like The Palette Cafe and Clayful Cafe provide these fun experiences under Rs 2000.
