Rahul Mishra Transforms Sobhita Dhulipala To A Divine Goddess At India Couture Week 2026

Sobhita Dhulipala raised the bar with awe at Rahul Mishra's breathtaking showcase at India Couture Week 2026 (ICW '26), as the showstopper for the designer's groundbreaking 'Devi: The Eternal Muse' collection. Dressed in a breathtaking couture creation that celebrated Indian craftsmanship and feminine divinity, Sobhita's ethereal transformation on the runway paid tribute to Indian mythology, art and haute couture.

Rahul Mishra’s ‘Devi’ Collection Showcase at ICW ’26

After the recent successful and viral showcase of his Devi collection at Paris Haute Couture Week, he brought the collection back with a new festive collection for the final show of India Couture Week 2026. The couturier brought his signature ektaarka technique to create garments that embodied goddess realness, transforming fabric into sculptural art. The collection honoured India's artisanal heritage through floral motifs, zardozi embroidery and hand-painted textiles with richly crafted surfaces.

Sobhita Dhulipala Being a Divine Showstopper

The actress graced the runway wearing a breathtaking temple art and sculpture-inspired couture ensemble. Her look featured a divine, sculptural mesh corset-style jumpsuit with intricate layered-necklace embroidery that translated the heritage architecture of the Ajanta Caves.

Her cinched waist with an ornate crystal-encrusted belt along with beadwork and dangling embellishments. The bottom of the jumpsuit featured ivory satin draped with crystal piping in a nude shade. The layered panels symbolised sculpted pleats, further elevating the goddess realness of the look.

Immersive Storytelling And Live Performance

The moment that earned the applause of divine appreciation was when Rahul Mishra invited the audience to witness the creative process behind the collection, showcasing the Paris designs alongside his new pieces. 

Instead of presenting a conventional runway show, Sobhita concluded the evening with a second look through an immersive presentation that combined couture with artistic storytelling.

The actress performed a live transformation on the runway, evolving into a ‘Devi’. This theatrical presentation was a jaw-dropping moment and a testimony to celebrate India’s rich tradition and heritage through fashion and symbolism.

The second look featured a full-length A-line over-skirt that partially revealed the fitted bottom of the jumpsuit underneath. This elevated couture look showcased a sheer champagne-toned fabric, with the entire skirt adorned with sequins, crystals, beadwork and delicate floral embroidery.

About The Collection

The closing show of India Couture Week 2026 marked the homecoming of Rahul’s “Devi: The Eternal Muse” collection, which made its grand debut at Paris Haute Couture Week earlier this month. Drawing inspiration from centuries-old temple sculptures in southern India, the collection symbolised sculptures, sacred architecture and goddess imagery through intricate embroidery and sculptural couture.

Rahul Mishra’s Devi collection from ICW '26 was a testimony to elevated fashion for bridal couture. Each piece from all of their collection was a delightful narration of true traditions and paying homage to artisans and their handicraft history.

And the art of storytelling through fashion and styling was explored at the most grandeur level, that the entire showcase was not just spectacular but an inspiration to being proud of our rich cultural roots.
