The company has described peach fuzz as a heartfelt hue that will bring a feeling of kindness and a tender conscience, that communicates a message of care and sharing, fraternity, community and collaboration.

As per Laurie Pressman, Vice President, Pantone Colour Institute, “peach fuzz velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches heart, mind, and body.”
As for 2023, it was a year that saw a surge of bright hues of pink and magenta that literally ruled the trends, case in point Barbiecore. For the upcoming year, it seems that the love for bright pinks is going to be overtaken by minimalism and subtle colour choices.

Laurie Pressman explained, ““Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness. An appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz inspires belonging, recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from.”
In their press release, Pantone detailed why this soft and rather sublime hue was chosen as the colour of the year 2024; “At a time of turmoil in many aspects of our lives, our need for nurturing, empathy and compassion grows ever stronger as does our imaginings of a more peaceful future.”
The colour institute wanted to pick a colour that would focus on the importance of community and the sense of coming together with others.

It is believed that peach hues have already been pretty popular in the home decor sector, fashion and accessory sectors. In 2024, it likely to see a further rise in terms of popularity.
