With rising temperatures, we all switch to lighter fabrics, flowy dresses and breathable fabrics. Amidst a variety of fabrics, cotton is our first choice because of the comfort it ensures. This season, I wanted to explore Chikankari embroidery in cotton and while on my search I came across Chowkhat which features handmade cotton Chikankari collections. I got two kurtis from Chowkhat recently. Was my review worth it? Here is my detailed review of the products.

My Experience
I am someone who prefers comfortable fashion, especially in the summer. Kurtis are my favourite picks when it comes to styling. They can be dressed up and dressed down depending on their needs. To ensure Chikankari variety in my collection, I chose a Mul Cotton Short Chikankari Kurti and Long Chanderi Chikankari Kurti from Chowkhat. One of the prime reasons why I picked kurtis from Chowkhat was for the fabric and handmade intricate embroidery. The brand claims to have curated its kurtis featuring handwoven embroidery.

The fabric was so comfortable and gentle on my skin that I didn’t feel like taking it off once I had slipped into it. Both the kurtis (lucknowi kurtis for summer) are perfect to style with denim for an everyday look. However, you can also pair them with pants and palazzos depending on the occasion. I usually carry the yellow short kurti with denim for my everyday office look. I style it with some oxidised jewellery and Juti. The long pink kurti give festive vibes. I pair this with white palazzos for contrast and a few pieces of oxidised jewellery for a small puja at home.
Pros
- Comfortable cotton
- Lightweight
- Can be styled for both formal and festivities
- Easy to accessorise
- Breathable fabric
- Gentle on skin
Cons
Some people may consider the kurtis to be a bit expensive. However, given the quality of the fabric and design, it is worth it.
