SSC CGL 2024: Know Important Dates, Eligibility, And Other Essential Details

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for SSC CGL 2024, announcing the commencement of the Combined Graduate Level Examination. This year, the recruitment aims to fill around 17,727 vacancies. Interested candidates can register online through the official website ssc.gov.in. SSC CGL 2024: Important Dates

The application process commenced on June 24, 2024, and will conclude on July 24, 2024. The deadline for fee payment is July 25, 2024. Candidates can make corrections to their application forms from August 10 to 11, 2024.

The Tier 1 examination is tentatively scheduled for September to October, while the Tier 2 examination is tentatively scheduled for December 2024, as per Hindustan Times.

Educational Qualifications

For Junior Statistical Officer: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or Institute. They should have obtained at least 60 percent marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level, or a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level, according to Shiksha.com.

For Statistical Investigator Grade 2: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognised University or Institute.

For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and other positions: Candidates need to have a bachelor's Degree from a recognised University or Institute.

Age Limit:

Candidates applying should be between 18 to 32 years of age. There will be relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government regulations.

SSC CGL 2024: Application Fee

Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2024 are required to pay an application fee of Rs 100. However, women candidates and individuals from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are not required to pay the application fee.

SSC CGL 2024: How To Apply

Here are the steps for candidates to apply online:

• Go to the official website, ssc.gov.in.
• Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process by registering yourself.
• After successful registration, proceed to fill out the application form.
• Carefully enter details such as category, nationality, identification mark, permanent address, and present address.
• Upload the necessary documents, pay the application fee, and submit the form.
• Finally, take a printout of the application form for your records.

Candidates who are selected will be appointed to different Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ positions across various ministries, departments, organisations of the Government of India, as well as constitutional bodies, statutory bodies, and tribunals. The allocation of posts will be carried out in accordance with the provisions outlined in the examination notification, based on merit and the preferences indicated by the candidates.
