Travelling is on most of our minds since the pandemic and the lockdown made us homebound for almost a year. But where can you go in the month of April could be a query in many minds. So here is a small list of some of the best places including a few you may not have heard of, but you must visit.
These islands are a beauty especially if you are a water baby. This is where you head for a relaxing vacation which is a location complete with clear water, clear sky, beaches with white sand. The climate here is largely tropical and it fluctuated between 27°C to 32°C in the summer months. Some of the major attractions here include Neil Island, Radhanagar Beach, Havelock Islands, Ross Island, Elephant Beach and more. Things To Do: You can go for Scuba diving in Havelock Island, try snorkeling at Radhanagar beach, try undersea walking, go trekking from Mt. Harriet to Madhuban, Light & sound show at the cellular jail.
This little place is located in Himachal Pradesh surrounded by mountains and lush greenery. It is warm in the daytime but cold at night. Checkout the HPCA Stadium, Kalachakra Temple, Tibetan Museum, Kangra Valley, and the War Memorial. Opt for paragliding, trek to Dharamkot, go sightseeing, trek to Kareri Lake, go camping at Lahesh caves.
This place is often called the Switzerland of India. With the snow-clad mountains on all sides, you can try paragliding here whatever time of the year. It has a mild climate and the temperature is between 17°C to 30°C. Yiu can visit Golden Devi temple, Khajj Nag Temple, Tibetan Handicrafts Center and the Khajjiar Lake. Go for trekking, zorbing, explore the Chamera Dam and you can also visit Bhuri Singh Museum here.
This is a lovely tourist destination which is at a height of 5500 feet. It is a mix of natural attractions, cultures, and a lovely environment. It has a fluctuating but mild temperature between 13°C to 22°C. You can checkout Nathu La Pass, Tsomgo Lake, Himalayan Zoological Park, Ranka Monastery, Do Drul Chorten Stupa and Hanuman Tok. Go on a drive to the lake, checkout the Do Drul Chorten stupa, explore the Rumtek monastery, and you must drive through the Nathu La Pass.
Masinagudi is a complete nature lover's paradise. This is a hill station which many people don't know about. It is located in Tamil Nadu and the climate in April is just perfect here. What you can see here are the Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta temple, Mudumalai National Park, and Bandipur National park. Go on a trek, take jeep safaris and checkout the forests, explore the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, go camping in Mudumalai National Park and more.
A treat to the eyes, Kashmir is a must visit at least once in a lifetime. Beat the summer heat here and checkout Gulmarg, Srinagar, Leh, Doda, Kupwara, Sonmarg, Pulwama, Pahalgam and many more. Do experience the Shikara Ride in Dal Lake, trek through the Zanskar Ranges, you can try mountain biking in Ladakh, and you must have skiing on your agenda in Gulmarg.
Love water and sports? Then Rishikesh is the best here. While the lowest temperature here is 15 degrees Celsius, the max is 36. Besides river rafting, you must see the evening arti, and do try bungee jumping if you are a daredevil. Some of the other major attractions here include the popular Laxman Jhula, Beatles Ashram and Triveni Ghat.
These hills with tea farms and the lovely sun is excellent for soar eyes. Here you can stay in a tree house, opt for waterfall hopping and go hiking. You must see the Mattupetty Dam, Pothamedu View Point and Anamudi.
Many Maharashtrians would know this and it is a lovely place. Go boating, hiking, and caving here. Also do not forget to checkout Echo point, Garbett Point, and Charlotte Lake.
Dear trekkers, this is for you! The pristine lake is a beauty at an altitude of 2,438 m. There are meadows and a view you need time to let it sink in. Visit the Deoria Lake, and Sari Village and do go camping.
Take a vacation and head to this place to cool it off! It is lush green with the temperature oscillating between 15-25 degrees Celsius. Go hiking, boating and try their Wildlife safari. Go see the Banasura Sagar Dam, Edakkal Caves, and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.
We all know Rajasthan is a beautiful state with so much history and culture. One place you should not skip visiting is Mount Abu. The hill station here is amazing and it full of tourist attractions, luxurious hotels and lovely restaurants. There are loads for shopaholics and souvenirs. You can visit the temples here, go trekking and do wait for the sun to rise or set at the sunset point.
