The Kannada television industry is in shock following the death of actor Nandini CM, who was found dead at her residence in Bengaluru. The actor, who had recently gained wider recognition through her work in Tamil television, died by suicide, police officials confirmed. Her sudden passing has left colleagues, fans and viewers struggling to come to terms with the loss of a performer many described as sincere, driven and quietly ambitious.
Authorities said a suicide note was recovered from the scene and is being treated as a crucial part of the ongoing investigation.
Originally from Kottur, Nandini had been living in Bengaluru for professional commitments. She began her acting career with supporting roles in Kannada television before gradually establishing herself as a familiar face in the industry. Over the years, she appeared in several popular serials, including ‘Jeeva Hoovagide’, ‘Sangharsha’, ‘Madhumagalu’ and ‘Neenade Naa’, earning appreciation for her screen presence and emotional range.

Her move to Tamil television marked an important turning point in her career. She was most recently seen in the Tamil serial ‘Gowri’, where she played a demanding dual role that brought her wider visibility.
According to preliminary information shared by the police, the note recovered from Nandini’s room was addressed to her parents. In it, she reportedly spoke about emotional distress and feeling pressured to get married at a time when she was not mentally prepared for it.
The note is also said to mention her struggles with depression and a sense of being misunderstood, particularly around personal decisions and life choices. Officials have stressed that the contents of the note are being examined carefully and form a key part of the investigation. No conclusions have been drawn at this stage, and authorities have urged caution against speculation.

Police said that on the evening of December 28, 2025, Nandini visited a friend’s house and returned to her paying guest accommodation around 11.23 pm. When repeated calls to her phone went unanswered later that night, the friend alerted the PG manager. Staff members reportedly forced open the locked room and found her hanging from a window grille using a veil cloth. Emergency responders declared her dead at the scene.
During the Probe, investigators also came across diary entries in which Nandini expressed her strong desire to continue acting and her reluctance to take up a government job offered on compassionate grounds following her father’s death in 2023.
