Who Is Himesh Patel? Meet Indian-Origin Star Of The Odyssey Making Headlines As Eurylochus

The Odyssey has hit the theatres worldwide with the talented star cast making fans even more excited about the premise. Among the ensemble cast, Himesh Patel is one of the actors who has been grabbing the attention with his performance. This is not his first collaboration with Christopher Nolan as they worked together in the 2020 film 'Tenet'.

Who is Himesh Patel?

Born in 1990 to Gujarati Hindu parents, Himesh Patel was interested in acting since young age and his parents also supported his talent. His father was born in Kenya and his mother was born in Zambia.

He made his acting debut with British soap opera EastEnders, where he played Tamwar Masood. He played the role for nine years but left in 2016 to explore other opportunities. He made his film debut in 2019 with 'Yesterday'. He later appeared in Christopher Nolan's film 'Tenet', which gave him international recognition.  

He was later seen in prominent films like Don't Look Up, Good Grief, The Assessment, among others. He was recently seen in Enola Holmes 3 as Dr John Watson.

What does Himesh Patel play in The Odyssey?

Himesh Patel is seen as Eurylochus, who is  second-in-command of Odysseus and his incompetent brother-in-law. Eurylochus is a pivotal character in the epic saga of Homer's Odyssey and his actions directly influence the fate of Odyssey and other characters.

Who else is in the cast of The Odyssey?

The movie features several prominent British and American actors. Matt Damon essays the central character of Odysseus with Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson as Antinous, Lupita Nyong'o as Helen Of Troy, Samantha Morton as Circe, Zendaya as Athena, Charlize Theron as Calypso, Benny Safdie as Agamemnon, Jon Bernthal as Menelaus, Bill Irwin as Polyphemus, Mia Goth as Melantho, Elliot Page as Sinon, among others.

Based on Homer's ancient Greek epic 'The Odyssey', the plot follows Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, and his long and difficult journey home after the Trojan War.
