Who Is Basuri Chokshi?

Basuri Chokshi is an Ahmedabad-based muralist, painter, and couture artist known for blending fine art with fashion. Before entering the art world full-time, she trained as an interior designer and worked with architectural spaces and structures. However, her passion for painting eventually pushed her towards a more creative path. She officially transitioned into professional art in 2012 and has since built a reputation for soft, dreamy acrylic paintings, large-scale murals, and delicate hand-painted textile projects. The Story Behind Alia Bhatt’s Viral Cannes Gown

On her official ‘Cannes Film Festival’ appearance, Alia Bhatt was photographed outside Hotel Martinez in a pastel couture gown inspired by vintage princess silhouettes. The dress featured intricate landscape-inspired artwork in lavender, ivory, moss green, and slate blue tones.

Basuri Chokshi hand-painted the artwork directly onto silk organza fabric, drawing inspiration from the French Riviera’s lavender fields, coastlines, and romantic scenery. Her brushstrokes transformed the gown into what many social media users described as a wearable painting.
