Who Is Amina Nijam? Know All About The Kerala Actor Who Is "Ashamed" Of India For Operation Sindoor

On the unfortunate day of April 22, 2025, a group of terrorists attacked several innocent tourists in the Pahalgam area of Indian-administered Kashmir. The tragic incident led to the loss of multiple lives. India, as a retaliation, launched Operation Sindoor, where a military operation was conducted by the Indian Armed Forces. There were missile strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which lasted for 25 minutes. Several renowned personalities and celebrities have come forward supporting the government’s decision. However, a select few have condemned it. Amidst that is Amina Nijam, an actor from Kerala who posted about being ‘ashamed’ of India for Operation Sindoor. Read on to learn who Amina Nijam is and what she said in her statement. 

Who Is Amina Nijam?

Amina Nijam is an actor from Kerala who started her journey in the entertainment industry through a popular Malayalam TV reality show, Naayika Nayakan. She is known for her work in several movies and shows. Gangs of 18 (2018), directed by Shankar Ramakrishnan, was Amina’s acting debut, and since then she has worked on many other projects. Some of these projects are Pathinettam Padi, Anjaam Paathira, Sebastiante Velliyazhcha, Gangs of 18, Pattaapakal, Turkish Tharkkam and Turbo.

Amina Nijam’s Statement Against India’s Operation Sindoor

After news broke about the Indian government’s retaliation to Pahalgam’s terror attack with Operation Sindoor, many renowned personalities took to social media to support the government’s decision. However, Amina Najim posted a statement on her Instagram handle condemning the government. Her statement read, “Yes, I'm ashamed our country sought out killing as the solution when so many questions are still unanswered and the economic situation of the country is at its worst. Remember war doesn't bring peace nor does killing. I don't support it. People who think they have sought revenge for the Pahalgam attack have been manipulated. It's a war we are getting into and the loss is only for the civilians.I'm an Indian who thinks for the welfare of its people, not the one that speaks only when the ego is hurt.”

After posting this statement, the actor received severe hate from her followers. She has now posted an apology statement clarifying her statement. 

Amina Nijam Posts Apology Statement For Her Remarks

Amina Nijam posted an apology statement that read, “There was a story that I had posted which belonged to a lawyer that said about killing of pak civlians but as soon as I came to know the official clarification of now civlians had been involved in the attack I took down the story. I apologize for the same.” 

She also posted another story with screenshots of her condemning the initial Pahalgam attack.

This was a response to those who were accusing her of not posting anything against the initial attack.
