The match was spectacular in many ways as the Indian cricket team became the first-ever team to enter the World Cup Finals undefeated with the highest score of 397 ever by any team in any ICC tournament knockout, Shami derailed the Kiwi chase by taking seven wickets, Shreyas Iyer scored his second World Cup hundred, and Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar as he broke Sachin’s record with his 50th ODI century. Also, New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell completed a century despite his cramps. The player single-handedly turned the match into a nail-biting experience.

After Kohli completed his century, he raised his bat to the Lord, bowed to his idol, Sachin Tendulkar, and gave flying kisses to his lady love, Anushka Sharma, who was over the moon to see her husband’s accomplishments. He also gestured towards his fans to thank them for their love and support.
