South-Indian Actor Chiranjeevi Receives Padma Vibhushan From President Droupadi Murmu; Details Inside

The Padma Awards were announced on Republic Day and the Padma Awards ceremony was held in New Delhi last night. The South-Indian actor Chiranjeevi was recently presented with the Padma Vibhushan award in a ceremony in New Delhi on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Chiranjeevi Honoured With Padma Vibhushan 

Chiranjeevi received the Padma Vibhushan award from President Droupadi Murmu in the presence of his family members, his wife, Surekha and son, Ram Charan with his wife, Upasana Konidela.

Vyjayanthimala, Mithun Chakraborty, Vijaykant and Usha Uthup were also among the receivers of the prestigious awards this year.

The veteran actor Chiranjeevi sported a dark Bandhgala suit for the ceremony. He greeted PM Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu by joining his hands in their respect before he accepted the scroll.

As reported by HT, in a media interaction earlier, Chiranjeevi said, “I am really overwhelmed, humbled, and grateful. It is only the unconditional love of the audience, my friends, and my blood brothers and sisters. I owe this life and moment to you. I have always tried to express my gratitude in the ways I can. But, nothing can be ever enough.”

Chiranjeevi has been seen in over 160 films in his decades-long career. He also received the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and has now taken the award home for the second time. Next, the actor will be seen in Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta.
