In a shocking incident, actor, karate, and archery expert Shihan Hussaini died on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in the early hours in Chennai at a private hospital after battling advanced-stage blood cancer. His family confirmed the news of his demise on Facebook. As per reports, his body will be kept at the High Command, his residence at Basant Nagar in Chennai, for the family, public and students to pay tribute. Scroll down to know more.

Shihan Hussaini Died Battling Blood Cancer

Actor, Karate and archery expert Shihan Hussaini has been battling advanced blood cancer for the past few weeks and was not keeping up well. He was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. He was quite active on his social media and kept on giving constant updates about his cancer journey.

Seeing his posts, the Tamil Nadu government provided financial aid of Rs 5 lakh for his cancer treatment. A few days ahead of his demise, he announced his decision to donate his body for medical research.

His family confirmed the news with a post on Facebook, “I’m very sad to inform you that HU has left us. HU will be at the High Command, his residence at Besant Nagar until evening.

Later his family shared another Facebook post for his fans who will be visiting to pay tribute.

The post read,
“Dear archers, parents and coaches,
Whoever is coming to HU's house to see his mortal remains, please come in your uniform (any colour is fine), if possible come with your bow and arrow to shoot a few arrows.
His mortal remains will be in high command till 7 pm.
All archers will shoot a few arrows at 5 pm where HU will be administering the shooting through his mortal body.
All karatekas, at 3 pm assemble with your Gi and you will perform katas, where HU will administer through his mortal body.
After 7 pm, his mortal remains will be taken to Madurai.”

Shihan Hussaini was a South Indian actor who made his acting debut with Kamal Haasan’s Punnagain Mannan in 1986. He then played a part in Rajinikanth's Velaikaran, Bloodstone, and many other Tamil films. His last acting ventures were in Vijay Sethupathi's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Chennai City Gangsters. Apart from acting, he also appeared as a judge and a presenter in many reality shows. Shihan was a multi-talented person with expertise in combat sports, martial arts, archery, and sculpting.
