Shah Rukh Khan Death Threat: Chhattisgarh Lawyer Arrested After Claiming His Phone Was Stolen

After receiving a death-threatening call for actor Shah Rukh Khan, Mumbai police arrested a Chhattisgarh-based lawyer on Tuesday. The accused demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh as well. Scroll down to learn more about the case.

Shah Rukh Khan Received Threatening Call

Last week, Bandra Police station received a call threatening Shah Rukh Khan and asking for a ransom of Rs 50 Lakh. Bandra Police registered a case under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the caller followed by the actor's complaint. The threat to the actor is followed by a series of death threats issued to Salman Khan by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

During the investigation, police found that a threat call was made from a number registered in the name of Faizan Khan. The Mumbai police team immediately visited Raipur and summoned Faizan Khan for questioning. However, Faizan claimed that his phone was stolen on November 2, 2024, and had lodged a complaint as well at Khamardih police station.

Chhattisgarh Lawyer Arrested For Threatening Call

A Chhattisgarh advocate named Faizan Khan was arrested by Mumbai Police for issuing a death threat to Jawan actor Shah Rukh Khan. He was arrested from his Raipur residence. He had previously said that he would come to Mumbai on November 14, 2024, to give his statement. However, since he had been receiving threats over the past two days. He wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner requesting that his statement should be recorded virtually considering his safety.

Faizan later added that he had lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan over a dialogue in his movie ‘Anjaam’ released in 1994 over the reference to deer hunting.
“I hail from Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community (which is from Rajasthan) is my friend. It is in their religion to protect deer. So, if a Muslim says something like this about deer, it is condemnable. Therefore, I objected,” he said.
