Nawazuddin Siddiqui: 'I Am The Ugliest Actor In Bollywood, Heard So Many Taunts That I Believe This Now’

Renowned bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui known for his incredible roles in bollywood movies, ‘Kick’, Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Haddi’ opens up on facing his fair share of discrimination from society for his looks. In a recent interview with News18, he shared that he considers himself the ugliest actor in the bollywood film industry. Keep reading to know the reason behind this revelation. 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui On Facing Discrimination

Despite being one of the most versatile and incredible actors in the Bollywood film industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also faced a lot of discrimination because of his looks.  In a recent interview with News18, he candidly admitted that he faced discrimination and negative feedback so much that now he considers himself the ugliest actor in the film industry.

He said, “Pata nahi shakalo se humari nafrat kyun hai kuch logon ko. Kyunki shakal hi aisi hai – itne badsurat hai humlog. Humein bhi lagta hai jab apne aap ko aaine mein dekhte hai. Hum bhi bolte hai apne aap ko ‘kyun aa gaye film industry mein itne gande shakal leke?’ (I don’t know why some people hate the way I look. Maybe it’s because I’m just that ugly. Even I feel it when I look at myself in the mirror. I question why I came into the film industry with such bad looks).”

He further said, “I’m the ugliest actor – physically – in the film industry. Main toh yeh maanta hoon. Kyun ki main shuru se yeh sab sunte aa raha hoon aur abhi maanne bhi laga hoon (I have been hearing it for so long that I’ve started to believe it. I have no complaints about the film industry).”

However, Nawazuddin Siddqui also expressed his gratitude towards the opportunities that he received for playing different characters in his career, despite the discrimination.

Nawazuddin Bollywood Career

Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his debut in 1999 with a small role in the Aamir Khan starrer Sarfarosh. However, he rose to fame for his role in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ and then he never looked back. He was last seen in the OTT movie Haddi. His most recent release is Rautu Ka Raaz which was released on Zee5 on June 28, 2024.
