Veteran actor-filmmaker Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75. The industry is currently in shock after learning about this heartbreaking news and is mourning his loss. The news was further confirmed by the news agency ANI. It has been reported that the actor died due to a severe cardiac arrest.

According to ANI, Nana Patekar was found dead at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, on October 8 at 5:20 AM. Despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, he could not be revived. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem will be conducted, said Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department, Manipal Hospital.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted and only that can reveal more details surrounding his sudden demise.

About Nana Patekar's Career:
Nana Patekar was a well known name in the film industry and gave several memorable roles. Not only serious characters, he perfectly played comic characters as well. Born as Vishwanath Patekar into a Marathi family, he started his acting career in 1978 with Mimagaman. He played Nathuram Godse in the British television series Lord Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy and later gained fame with the 1988 film Salaam Bombay.

He won his first National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Parinda, released in 1989. Nana Patekar also became a director for the 1991 film Prahaar: The Final Attack, for which he underwent training for his role as an Indian Army officer. He bagged his first Filmfare Award for Best Villain for Angaar.
For the 1994 film Krantiveer, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor, the Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and the Screen Award for Best Actor. In the 2000s, he did even more meaty roles along with several comic roles too. One of the most iconic comedy roles is Uday Shetty in Welcome, which is a big part of meme culture and remains memorable to this day.
He was last seen in Subedaar in a cameo role. He also played the lead role in the web series Sankalp.
