Just hours before the tragic news broke on April 11, 2026 night, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared a hopeful health update, reassuring fans that the veteran singer was under medical care and being closely monitored. She wrote, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering  a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively.🙏🏼”

Legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12, 2026 at the age of 92 in Mumbai. She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital after battling a chest infection, extreme exhaustion and respiratory complications. She had been admitted to the hospital a day earlier when her condition worsened and was kept under close observation in the ICU. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to multi-organ failure, doctors confirmed.

The news of her passing was confirmed by her son, Anand Bhosle. He told reporters outside the hospital, “My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park.”
