Tamil composer-actor GV Prakash Kumar and his singer-wife Saindhavi announced their separation recently after 11 years of marriage. The joint statement made on May 13, 2024, on their social media handles, has sent shock waves in the industry. Taking to their respective X accounts, the duo cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their decision.

Just over a month ahead of their 11th wedding anniversary, Prakasha and Saindhavi announced their divorce. “After much reflection, Saindhavi and I have decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage, for the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving our mutual respect for each other,” his note read.

The couple further pleaded, "We kindly ask the media friends and fans to understand and respect our privacy during this deeply personal transition. Acknowledging that we are growing apart, we believe this is the best decision for each other."

The Couple Welcomed Their First Child In 2020
In April 2020, the couple welcomed their first child, Avni. She turned 4 years old last month in April 2024. Back in 2023, on June 27, Saindhavi uploaded a photo of her wedding day where she posed with GV Prakash while holding their var-malas. Recalling her wedding day, Saindhavi wrote, "It's been a decade since we got married but Just feels like yesterday. Happy 10th wedding anniversary to the love of my life @gvprakash." She added, "Thank you for being an amazing friend, an awesome husband and an incredible father to our daughter. Thank you for being the most amazing human being that you are.
