Fashion Designer Rohit Bal Hospitalised, Put On Ventilator In Gurguram's Medanta

Ace Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal who was considered the first ever designer superstar of the industry is currently battling a very grave health condition. The couturier has been put on a ventilator in the intensive care unit of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Bal was born in Srinagar and began his career in the 1980s decade. He is arguably one the most renowned fashion designers he industry has ever had. 

Rohit Bal has also won ‘Designer of the Year’ at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006 and the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Awards in the year 2001. His distinguished work was also acknowledged in 2012 when he was named as the Lakme Grand Finale Designer.

Bal is known for his edgy style pieces combined with Indian crafts. He has recently launched a collection called, ‘Balance’ for autumn-winter 2023. He has dressed celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Parineeti Chopra, Esha Gupta, Kangana Ranaut, Mouni Roy and many more.

Details On Rohit Bal’s Deteriorating Health Condition:

As per reports, Rohit who is currently aged sixty two-years-old was struggling with an alcohol addiction and has been in and out of a rehabilitation center where he was receiving help to feel better.

Reportedly, in November this year, Mr. Bal’s health condition took a turn for the worse making it necessary for his immediate admission to Medanta Hospital. Furthermore, in February 2010 Mr. Bal had faced a heart attack that needed an emergency angioplasty that he had to undergo.

According to reports by HTCity, Bal was rushed to hospital by model Suraj Dhalia. A close friend of his said, “His heart was sinking and he was unconscious. His pacemaker gave seven shocks. He was initially taken to Moolchand and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Medanta.”
