The speculation of a fallout between actor Deepika Padukone and filmmaker Farah Khan increased following reports that the two had unfollowed one another on Instagram. Farah, dismissing the gossip, has since issued a response to correct the record.
Chatter on social media has intensified, with many users sharing screenshots that purportedly show Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone are no longer following each other on Instagram. Further fueling the speculation, some posts additionally allege that Ranveer Singh has also unfollowed Farah.
The incident quickly sparked social media speculation about a potential rift between the two stars. Some users even suggested the cause of the falling out was Farah Khan's alleged sarcastic remark regarding Deepika Padukone's request for an eight-hour workday.
Farah came across one such post about the alleged rift and took to the comments to set the record straight. The filmmaker sharply criticised people who are spreading such stories.
In response to the speculation, Farah Khan dismissed the circulating stories, commenting sharply, "What rubbish ul write!! Pls find other things to do."

Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone share a particularly close relationship, as the filmmaker was responsible for launching Deepika’s Bollywood career. This debut happened with the hit film Om Shanti Om, which co-starred Shah Rukh Khan. Their professional collaboration continued with the hugely successful movie Happy New Year, another film featuring Shah Rukh.
Farah's comments on the eight-hour workday demand were made through her vlogs, where she appeared to mock the request. This comes after Deepika Padukone was recently in the news for leaving Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and later stepping away from Kalki 2898 AD, reportedly due to her insistence on limiting her work shifts to eight hours.
During a visit to Radhikka Madan's house, Farah brought up the actor's initial audition for the show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. When Farah asked, "I assume you weren't working an eight-hour shift?" Radhika confirmed the intense schedule, replying that it was often "56 hours non-stop or 48 hours non-stop." In response, Farah seemingly expressed her disapproval of the eight-hour limit, asserting that such demanding work is essential, stating, "Aise tapke hi toh sona banta hai," or implying that success requires such grueling effort.
More recently, when Farah Khan was at Rohit Saraf's house, her cook, Dilip, inquired, "When will Deepika Padukone ma’am appear on our show?" Farah playfully replied, "She will come the day you return to your village." She then took a clear jibe at the actor's schedule, stating, "Deepika Padukone now shoots for only eight hours, so she doesn't have time to be on our show."
