When you hear about the golden era of Bollywood, one of the names that is majorly highlighted in your mind is that of the legendary and eternal actor Dev Anand’s. The whole country is remembering the evergreen star on his 100th birth anniversary. The actor who gave powerful and unforgettable roles is still a part of the minds of those whom he worked with or came across.

He is best known for his roles in ‘Guide’, ‘CID’, ‘Jewel Thief’, ‘Johny Mera Naam’, and ‘Taxi Driver’, to name a few. The colourful representation of these characters has led him to be one of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry.

The man who lives in the hearts of millions never dies, and Dev Anand proved this. After more than a decade of him passing away, famous personalities are honouring him on his 100th birthday by putting up social media posts. 

His ‘Guide’ co-star Waheeda Rehman remembered him on this day mentioning “his nature was as charming as his appearance.” Zeenat Aman posted on Instagram with a long, heartfelt caption, appreciating the man and his eternal legacy. 

Further, the living legend Amitabh Bachchan tweeted “He signified something that was endless, a continuity which we all took as a given. The fact that we can watch these films almost 70 years after the first one was released, is because they have been preserved and restored.”

PM Modi also tweeted a picture from one of their encounters accompanied by a beautiful birthday wish and appreciation for the actor.

2 Days Film Festival Of Dev Anand's Best Movies

The actor who gave us so much to remember and dedicated his life to the world of cinemas and always keeping people entertained is being celebrated even after years of his demise. National Film Archive of India (NFAI), Pune, which is now acquired by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), is organising a 2-day film festival in the memory of actor Dev Anand in partnership with PVR INOX.

This festival is being conducted across the country in 30 cities and 55 cinema halls. Seven breathtaking films of the actor have been screened at the Film Archive on Law College Road, Pune from 23rd to 26th September. Entry is free if you avail the opportunity fast.
