How Depression Can Lead To Suicidal Thoughts?

We spoke to Dr Chandni Tugnait is Psychotherapist, MD Alternative Medicines, Founder & Director - Gateway of Healing, about how depression can manifest as suicidal thoughts. She said, "Suicide is not just someone giving up; it denotes all the pain they felt while trying to hold on but still failed to keep up."

The expert also said that depression and suicidal thoughts are related to emotional agony that can consume a person and weaken their will to live. She added, "A person in the grips of depression tends to feel completely hopeless and helpless, and they often isolate themselves from society, feeling that no one understands them or is on their side. There may also arise feelings of guilt, shame, and worthlessness, and these feelings are so intense that a person may feel that there is no way out."
