Angelina Jolie Accuses Brad Pitt Of Physical Abuse: Read Charges Here

The ongoing legal battle between Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has escalated, with Jolie's legal team filing a petition in a Los Angeles court alleging physical abuse by Pitt, according to CNN. 

The latest development arises amidst a dispute over a French winery the former couple co-owned. Jolie's claims of abuse date back to 2016 and include incidents during a flight from France to Los Angeles, as well as Pitt's alleged attempts to control and financially drain her.

Jolie Accuses Pitt Of Physical Abuse

According to the court documents filed on April 4, 2024, as reported by CNN, Jolie's legal team alleges that Pitt has a "history of physical abuse" and that he influenced her into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) preventing her from discussing his alleged abuse. The filing suggests that Jolie will provide evidence at trial, including testimony, emails, and photographs, to support her claims against Pitt.

The court filing also consists of detailed descriptions of abuse that allegedly took place in September 2016 during a flight from France to Los Angeles, as described in the court documents. According to the filing, Pitt's aggressive behaviour started even before the family got to the airport, with Pitt having a confrontation with one of the children. Jolie alleged that Pitt accused her of being "too deferential to the children" and proceeded to attack her verbally, physically, and even choked and struck their children.

The filing claimed that Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall. Pitt also allegedly lunged toward their child, and Jolie grabbed onto him from behind to stop him. To remove Jolie off his back, Pitt allegedly threw himself back into the plane's seats and injured her back and elbow, as detailed in the court documents.

Jolie also alleged that Pitt choked one of their children and struck another child in the face during the flight, as reported by CNN. The filing further claimed that Pitt poured beer on Jolie and also poured beer and red wine on their children during the incident.

Pitt Denies Allegations, Lawsuit Continues

Pitt has denied all allegations of abuse and has not yet responded to the latest filings, as reported by CNN. Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, criticised Pitt's actions, accusing him of attempting to control and financially drain her while concealing his alleged history of abuse.
