71st National Film Awards 2025: The ceremony for the 2023 National Awards is being held in Delhi on Tuesday. Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji have scripted history by winning their first National Awards, while Mohanlal will take home the country's highest honour for cinema - the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The awards were announced by the jury last month, and today, the winners have received their prize from President Droupadi Murmu. The National Film Awards are considered the most prestigious prize for cinema in India, and honour films in all 18 official languages of the country and beyond.

From Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey, Mohanlal and many more, the evening is celebrating the best performances and films that left an indelible mark on audiences. 

Mohanlal was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema over four decades.

Shah Rukh Khan received his first-ever National Award for Best Actor for his role in Jawan, sharing the honour with Vikrant Massey, who won for his acclaimed performance in 12th Fail.

Rani Mukerji was awarded Best Actress for her powerful portrayal in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. 

The award for Best Feature Film went to Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail. 

Sudipto Sen received the Best Director award for The Kerala Story, and the Best Hindi Film award went to the satirical comedy Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery.
