Mahalaxmi Vrat Rules
Here are the rules you should follow while you observe fast:
During Mahalaxmi Vrat, you have to worship Goddess Lakshmi properly in the morning for sixteen consecutive days. Worshiping all the eight forms of Mahalakshmi with rituals can be beneficial. Women who are observing Mahalakshmi fast should recite Shri Ashtalakshmi Stotram daily as it brings blessings of Mahalakshmi. Besides this, good fortune also increases.
On the last day of worship of Goddess Lakshmi, put water, some coins and Akshat in the Kalash. Then place mango leaves on the Kalash and coconut and worship with sandalwood, turmeric etc. After worshipping Lakshmi, make a lump of Durva and dip it in this water and also sprinkle it with all the members of the house and in the room. This provides relief from poverty and ensures good results.
Also, one should avoid consuming meat and alcohol during Mahalakshmi fast as it can hinder the results you are expecting. While breaking the Mahalakshmi fast, keep in mind that Goddess Lakshmi Vrat should be broken with the kheer offered as Prasad. This brings good fortune.
