Met Gala 2023: How Alia Bhatt Literally Owned The Red Carpet

Getting Excited!

Prabal Gurung shared a picture of the pearl embellishments on Alia’s dress before the event which had everyone talking.

Ivory Gown

Alia Bhatt’s dreamy Ivory silk tulle and satin face organza exaggerated basque waist ball gown was embellished with hand-beaded pearls. Prabal Gurung was behind this spectacle of a dress.

Going With The Theme

This year’s Met Gala theme was 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' and Bhatt oh-so-gracefully did justice to it. She explained in her Instagram post that her outfit was inspired by Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look from Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic Chanel brides.

Bhatt’s Makeup

Alia’s makeup was done by Puneet B Saini. “So the objective with makeup was to keep the skin looking really romantic with flushed cheeks but also give it that modern twist with soft ethereal eyes and nude lips.”, explained the fashion stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania.

Alia’s Hair

Mike Desir, who did Alia’s hairstyle, highlighted her face by pulling the hair back creating a straight and wavy messy look. “A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair.”, wrote Alia.

Bhatt’s Jewellery

Bhatt accessorised her look with a ring stack, a knuckle duster from the curation of Alice Cicolini x Malabar Gold and Diamonds and a cutoff custom made embellished gloves by Outhouse with mini motifs.

Pearl Shoes

Alia literally walked in pearl shoes on the red carpet as she opted for Pearl encrusted hand-embroidered shoes by ASAxSko.
