The much-awaited Tamil romantic action film Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, is finally getting its digital release. After making waves in cinemas, the film is ready to hit OTT platforms for fans who missed it in theatres or simply want to watch it again from the comfort of their homes. Retro was first released in cinemas on May 1, 2025. Now, exactly one month after its theatrical release, Retro is all set to begin streaming on May 31, 2025.

The announcement was shared by Netflix India on social media with an eye-catching poster and the caption that read, “A sacred spear. A secret identity. A saga for the ages. Retro OTT Release: Cast And Plot

Directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro is a mix of romance and action. It stars Suriya as the lead character Paarim, a former gangster trying to start a peaceful life after making a promise to his wife. But as expected, his violent past doesn’t leave him so easily. When old enemies and secrets return, Paarim finds himself in a battle between who he was and who he wants to become.

Pooja Hegde plays Rukmini, his long-lost love who reappears in his life, adding complexity to the storyline. The supporting cast includes Jayaram, Joju George, Prakash Raj, Karunakaran, Swasika, and Nassar, all playing strong roles that help move the story forward.

The film’s music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan, known for his gripping soundtracks, while Shreeyas Krishna has handled the cinematography. Retro was jointly produced by Karthik Subbaraj and Suriya under Stone Bench Creations and 2D Entertainment.
