SS Rajamouli Announces New Movie With Mahesh Babu

The filmmaker SS Rajamouli is currently in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival, where he opened up about his next project with Mahesh Babu. According to the reports in a media interaction at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival, the filmmaker briefly discussed his upcoming project, which will star superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Rajamouli reportedly called his film "a globetrotting action-adventure," which will see Mahesh Babu in a "one-of-its-kind role." The filmmaker also said, “My next film with Mahesh Babu will be a globetrotting action adventure. It will be a kind of James Bond film with Indian roots!”

“It’s a dream come true for me to work with him. Doing one film with Rajamouli Garu is like taking up 25 films at once. It’s going to be physically demanding and I’m excited about it. It’s going to be a pan-India film. I hope we break many barriers and take our work to audiences across the country,” he said in a media interaction. The untitled movie is now in the pre-production stage. And it is only expected to go on floors early next year.

Other films by the Baahubali director, Rajamouli include Magadheera, Eega, Vikramarkudu, and Maryada Ramanna. His most recent film, the historical drama RRR, stars Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Jr. NTR, and Alia Bhatt. This epic action-drama has earned a box office collection of Rs. 902 crores in India and Rs. 1111 crores worldwide.

Babu will join the production team for filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas' upcoming film. After a 12-year gap, their reunion will be marked by this project. It is anticipated to hit theatres in the 2023 summertime. He will soon be seen with Pooja Hedge in Jana Gana Mana.
