Rabindranath Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his masterpiece ‘Gitanjali’. Nastanirh - The Broken Nest

‘Nastanirh’ is a Bengali language novel published in 1901 that was later translated into English with the title ‘The Broken Nest’. This is the story of Charulata, a lonely wife keen on music whose husband leaves for work and cannot dedicate her time. He calls his brother, also into arts, to give Charu company. This novel has also been adapted as a movie called ‘Charulata’.
