    India celebrates National Girl Child Day on January 24 every year. To raise awareness of the injustices girls face in Indian society, the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Indian government started it in 2008. The day is celebrated with planned activities, such as awareness campaigns for Save the Girl Child, child sex ratios, and the development of a safe and healthy environment for girls.

    National Girl Child

    The Ministry of Women and Child Development established National Girl Child Day in the year 2008. The goal of this day is to transform people's perceptions of girls and raise awareness of the gender-based discrimination that girls experience in our society.

    Over the years, the Indian government has taken a number of actions to alter this and enhance the lives of females. There are various initiatives and campaigns implemented for the betterment of girls, including Save the Girl Child, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, subsidised or free education for girls, and many more.

    The official theme for National Girl Child Day 2023 has not yet been announced by the government of India. However, the slogan for National Girl Child Day 2023 is "Digital Generation, Our Generation".

    Objective:- 

    National Girl Child

    For Girl Child Day, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has certain goals in mind. On this day, a number of activities and programs for the progress and empowerment of girls are carried out by several government ministries, including the Department of Education, Sports, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Here are some objectives of the day:

    To end the discrimination against girls in Indian society

    To make sure that every girl in India is respected and valued by the community

    To make the girls aware of the rights and laws made for them.

    How It Is Celebrated?
