The scorching summer sun is dehydrating for both plants and humans. Dehydration can lead to wilting and drying of leaves. If you are a plant parent, you would never want your plants to get dehydrated and lose their greenery. Read on to learn how you can keep your plants hydrated and green during the summers.
Summer sun rays are harsh for the plants and thus they take away all the moisture from the leaves through transpiration. If you want to keep your plants hydrated, make sure to water them in the early hours of the morning before the sun casts its rays on them. This will allow your plants to absorb the water. However, if you water your plants during midday, it won’t be of any use because the harsh sun rays will evaporate the water before it reaches the roots.
The sun's rays are harsh for the plants during the summer season and thus it is advised to keep them in the shade. Plants also look for shelter like humans during the summers. Thus, you can either keep them on the balcony under the shade or cover them with a thick cloth.
If you want to keep your plants green then you are advised to use natural manure for your plants. Plants are already stressed during the summer season, and adding artificial fertiliser will do no good to them. You should use natural manures like cow dung, rotten fruits and peels for your plants.
As we humans tend to look for shade under trees, plants (things every plant enthusiast should know) also need shade. If you have a garden with big trees, you can place your small potted plants under the big tree to protect them from glaring sunlight.
