India is known as the ‘land of festivals’, and Holi is one of them! This festival of colours is celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm all over the country on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Phalguna, which usually falls in February or March. In 2024, Holi is marked on Monday, 25th March. The festivities will start on the evening of Sunday, March 24, with Holika Dahan, a ritual where a bonfire is lit to symbolise the victory of good over evil. Since India is a multicultural country with every state having their own tradition for celebrating Holi, this list will give you a picture of how the festival of colours is celebrated in different parts of India.
