The film faced tough competition from 'Raid 2,' which also released on May 1, 2025, starring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor.
Though 'Raid 2' has also received mixed feedback, it’s clearly ahead in terms of box office numbers. In contrast, 'The Bhootnii' has been met with largely negative reviews, and its Day 1 performance suggests a rocky road ahead. With earnings struggling to even touch the ₹1 crore mark, the film is off to a disastrous start. However, a strong weekend pickup could still turn things around though it may take more than just spooky charm to make that happen.
