The mythological science fiction movie ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released on June 27, 2024, across India, in five languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Amid the movie's success, fans are awaiting its release on OTT which was earlier announced to happen within six weeks of the movie’s theatrical release. However, later it was slashed by creators who have now announced the OTT release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in September. The official date is yet to be announced.

The mythological sci-fi movie has successfully crossed the ₹700 crore mark globally in all languages. Its day 20 Indian box office collection stands at ₹588.25 crore, according to a Mint report. The most expensive Indian movie, ‘Kaki 2898 AD’ was made with a budget of ₹600 crore.
Kamal Haasan Grateful For Movie’s Success
The Indian megastar Kamal Haasan who played the significant role of Supreme Yaskin, expressed his gratitude and joy to the creators of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in a video. He said, "I have acted in over 250 films, but not many films achieve this milestone. It's a moment to be celebrated."
He further added, "You'll see more of me in the second part. I am not going to talk about it now."
