Kashmir Ki Kali (1964)

‘Kashmir Ki Kali’ marked the Bollywood debut of Sharmila Tagore. This is the story of Rajiv who flees off to Kashmir to escape from getting married. However, amid the scenery, he falls for Champa, a beautiful Kashmiri girl. The movie has glimpses of many Kashmiri locations including Dal Lake, Srinagar.

Raazi (2018)

The Meghna Gulzar directorial patriotic movie starring Alia Bhatt, ‘Raazi’ is the story of a Kashmiri spy who is married to a Pakistani Army man. Her innocence becomes her mask as she spies on her in-laws and sends information to her country India. The scenes were shot in Kashmir Valley’s Srinagar and Pahalgam.

Haider (2014)

Vishal Bhardwaj’s poetic masterpiece adapted from Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’, ‘Haider’ is a gloomy movie that highlights Kashmir’s terrorism scenario and its link with Pakistan. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, and Kay Kay Menon, the movie was shot in Kahmir’s Dal Lake, Nishat Bagh, Sun Temple, Naseem Bagh, Martland Sun Temple, and Sonmarg.

Fitoor (2016)

Based on the Charles Dickens novel ‘Great Expectations’, ‘Fitoor’ is the story of Noor (Aditya Roy Kapur) a poor but talented boy and Firdaus (Katrina Kaif) an affluent girl. The intensity of love in the movie has been amplified by the lush green flora, red chinars, and snowcapped lands of Kashmir.
