Karan Johar's couch is about to see its last season, and Salman Khan is the first one to sit on it. The ninth and final season of Koffee With Karan premieres on October 14 on JioHotstar. It is also the first time Salman is coming on the show alone.

Koffee With Karan Promo Has Everyone Talking

The first promo is short, but it has a lot of heart. Karan tells Salman he is not coming back, and Salman replies with a famous line from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, asking him not to go. He even jokes about starting a show of his own, which he calls Every Koffee With Salman. Karan also reminds him that it is the finale season, so the conversation can go anywhere, and Salman agrees.

Why Is Karan Johar Reportedly Considering Leaving The Show?

It is not a sudden decision. Karan has said he took it with a heavy heart, and that he wants to spend the next decade directing more films. The show first aired 22 years ago, so it has been a big part of his life for a long time.

Salman's Koffee With Karan Journey

This is not Salman's first time on the couch. He made his debut in Season 4 and returned for the 100th episode with brothers Arbaaz and Sohail. He also came once with his father, and his last appearance was in 2016. That makes this return after nearly a decade.

Where And Where To Watch

You can watch the episode on JioHotstar from October 14 at 7PM.

From A Doubtful Idea To A Cultural Moment

Karan has recalled how his father, producer Yash Johar, was sceptical when he first pitched the idea. Today, it is one of the most talked-about chat shows in the country, which is why this goodbye feels bigger than a normal season finale.

Will Koffee With Karan Return For Season 9?

Nothing in the promo or in Karan's words points to a comeback. He has called this his last season and spoken about shifting his focus to filmmaking. Salman may have asked him to stay, but for now, the host seems to have made up his mind.
