With the World Tourism Day 2026 theme, 'Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to redesign tourism', it highlights the need and how hospitality experts are changing experiences through new introductions, and how travellers' choices are being influenced or improved.

AI can understand a travel request written in plain language, rather than making you select multiple filters to build an itinerary or check places across multiple apps. 

“Technology is making travel more seamless, more personalised and more accessible, but as travel becomes increasingly connected digitally, there is a growing desire for technology to simply do its job quietly in the background. What comes to the fore is the human side of travel. AI travel tools have been increasingly designed to work with real-time information, with the latest updates and modifications to choose and share information. The biggest shift isn't choosing the plan but changing it as per the circumstances.

AI tools are built to navigate real-time information, as Gemini describes, using maps, flights, and hotels to create and adjust plans.

For women travelling alone, this kind of flexibility can be useful when she wants to reconsider late-evening activities, find closer alternatives, or more. But AI should not become the final safety authority, as it is helping in assistance and not providing you with a final safety verdict.

With the help of AI, you can help find a 'well-located' hotel, but it does not necessarily mean you will be able to monitor the nearby area or surroundings.
