2. Roli

Roli or kumkum is the biggest part of the ritual on Rakhi. Sisters apply a blessing tilak on the forehead of their brothers to start the Rakhi ritual.

3. Chawal

Sweets and dry fruits are also a pivotal part of the ritual. Make sure to buy sweets a day before, as the day of Raksha Bandhan can be hectic. It is also important to ensure that the quality of the sweets is up to the mark and can last for a few days. If not sweets or you do not have a sweet tooth, then buy some dry fruits like almonds, raisins or dates. 

8. Decorative Items

If you want, you can even decorate your house on Raksha Bandhan. Buy a new vase, flowers, bed sheets or curtain to make your house look beautiful and presentable on the festival.
