The Early Spring Ending Explained:

After dating secretly for years, Flora finally decides to break up with Luke. She realises their power imbalance, poor communication and his controlling behavior can never be fixed while she is still his subordinate. She takes a tough decision to leave Beijing without a word, moves to her hometown Harbin, and starts her own advertising startup from scratch.
Luke spends months looking for her and realises his mistake. When he finds her, he doesn't try to pull her back to Beijing. He changes the dynamic by helping her get better clients and is also willing to work under her.
They introduce each other to their families and start again, but this time as equals. Luke makes a dreamy plan to propose to Flora and builds a pop-up 'Museum of Time and Eternity' filled with photos and objects from their entire history. He also gifts her a necklace with the 'L' typewriter key pendant.
Flora also opens a satellite office in Beijing and they commute between Harbin and Beijing. She is no longer his subordinate, she returns to Lime on her own terms.
