Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1 releases in theatres on November 5, just ahead of Diwali. It is one of the biggest Indian films ever made, and everyone has an opinion on it already. Here is what you can expect.

Why Should You Watch Ramayana: Part 1?

The film brings together a huge cast, big-name music and a scale we rarely see in Indian cinema. Here are five things to look forward to.

1. A Star-Studded Cast

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita, and Yash steps in as Ravana. Sunny Deol is Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman. Ranbir also plays Parshurama, so there is a second look to watch for.

2. Music By A R Rahman And Hans Zimmer

This is Hans Zimmer's first Indian film. He has teamed up with A R Rahman for the score. The trailer gave a taste of it, and the war scenes should hit harder because of the music.

3. A Big Budget Epic

The film reportedly has a Rs 4,000 crore budget and a runtime of 195 minutes. It is releasing in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D, 4DX and ScreenX. If you want the full effect, the bigger screen is the way to go.

4. Hollywood-Style Action And VFX

The action is handled by stunt coordinators Terry Notary and Guy Norris. The visual effects come from DNEG. The teaser was criticised for its VFX, but the trailer got a better response. Early reactions online are mixed, so you will have to decide for yourself.

5. A Film For The Whole Family

Ramayana has a U certificate and is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English. It is heading to over 100 countries. This is a story most of us grew up with, which makes it an easy family outing this Diwali.

Final Thought

Ramayana: Part 1 is a big swing, and it is carrying a lot of expectations. Some people may find the pacing slow, but the music, cast and scale make it hard to ignore. Part 2 follows in 2027.
